Oxfam Club Activities

Action 1: Learning
Orientation camp: Participants will build team spirit and start to understand and reflect on poverty issues and the causes of poverty.

Action 2: Sharing
Workshops and Project-learning: Participants will investigate the causes of poverty and the ways to eradicate poverty. They will also form a number of small groups to investigate poverty issues through projects.

Action 3: Exploring
Exposure trip in Hong Kong: Participants will take part in a community visit to investigate local issues of poverty.

Exposure trip to other countries: Participants will go to developing countries to experience and examine the causes of poverty there, to deepen their understanding of poverty issues.

Action 4: Practising

Community activity: When the participants come back to Hong Kong, they will become "poverty alleviation ambassadors". They will organise an activity in the community to raise the public's awareness and concern about poverty issues.

Action 5: Consolidating

School activity: Participants will organise an activity on poverty issues in their schools. They will use what they have learnt to raise their schoolmates' awareness and concern about poverty issues.
