Developing Countries

This term is a rather vague concept. More than 70% of the world's population lives in "developing countries", including China, India, Indonesia and many poor countries in Africa and South America. These countries are commonly characterised by slow economic development, insufficient social welfare and low per capita income. However, we must understand that the "development" of a country consists of many aspects, hence it is difficult to define a "fully-developed" country. Therefore, "developing countries" should be interpreted in a relative sense.
